Ready for Brad and Stella's wedding. From left to right: Marianne, Kenya, me, Andrea, Leslie, Amanda M.

Here I'm showing the beautiful sight of downtown LA to a lady form my church.

Ok, I didn't even remember having this picture, but this is Kenya, my former roommate (a.k.a. Bonita) and Carlos (a.k.a. Big C.)

friends on this side of the ocean

I know, blogs are not only for pictures, but I have so many amazing friends and I just want to share a couple more with you... just live with it, ok?

First of all: my brother!!

Ok, this amazingly sweet picture was sent to me when I was in LA. It gave me warm and fuzzy feelings :-)

Tanneke has been my bestfriend since highschool. This is a picture of her with her husband Kees and their cat.

These are the friends I'm staying with right now, Joy and Wieke. Oh yeah, they live in a highschool, we all have our own classroom...

Here in the rightcorner is my friend Christy, she is this amazing missionairy to lost peoplegroups, she puts her life on the line every day by facing the challenges of the jungle... or... well... maybe she was a missionairy in the town I used to life...?

The coolest friends are the friends you can be yourself with, let your guard down, cry, laugh, cry a little more... and talk about Jesus over a cup of Chai tea.
Suuz, thanks for understanding the little ien inside

Ode to Natalie

There is this one girl that needs attention on this blog. My best friend Nat. She is one of the most amazing people I have ever met. I could say a lot of cool things about her, but I can't because of our friend Jose... If you don't have a clue what I'm talking about... Here is a picture of her with her brother H-Wood.

a little history

Ok, since I this is my blog and you will probably be reading it, I thought I should give a short introduction.
Besides all the stuff in my profile, I was born in 1982 (which makes me 23 right now). I'm Dutch (for all my American friends, that means that I'm from The Netherlands, not Germany, which is in Europe, that other big continent where you're not at war with, yet (just kidding!!)).
I dropped out of college (Social Work) a couple years ago. Then I went to Los Angeles, CA and worked with the most amazing colleagues (I mean only at the moments where they weren't trying to kick my bud, because I was trying to aggravate them with making fun of American politics) and the most amazing teens, who I so love and so miss. I know and they know it wasn't always paradise, but that's life, right?

Wouldn't you instantly fall in love?

And this is the school where I used to teach.
I didn't know they could sleep this much, I had to wake them up every five minutes, but it was so much fun... I miss working there so much

Well time to embarrasse myself...
This is me, the first one on the rope for the tug of war in the mud pit. I love youth camp!!!
